Rules for using Warp It

Griffith University Warpit Recipient Waiver and Responsibility Agreement

Welcome to Griffith University Warpit! We are delighted to offer you a platform to
repurpose and reuse furniture and office supplies within our University. Any items which are
unclaimed internally, may then be advertised to local charities or schools. To ensure smooth
and clear transactions, please read and agree to the following terms:

1. Acceptance of Responsibility:

By accepting any item through Griffith University Warpit, you acknowledge that the item
becomes your sole property and responsibility. If you are claiming the item for use within
the University, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have your manager’s approval
beforehand. You agree to take full responsibility for the item, including all duties related
to its collection, transport, and usage.

2. Collection and Transportation:

Once an item is approved and allocated to you, it is your responsibility to arrange for its
collection and transportation. Griffith University does not provide delivery services, and
it is the recipient’s duty to ensure the item is picked up in a timely and safe manner.
Failure to do so may result in the item being reposted to Warpit and claimed by another
user. You are responsible for using due care when collecting the item and must ensure
you do not damage other University property in the process.

3. No Returns or Replacements:

Upon taking possession of the item, it is understood that the item cannot be returned to
the original location or to Griffith University. It is now an asset of your School or
Element, or organisation (for external transfers), and any further redistribution or
disposal is at your Element/organisation’s discretion and responsibility.

4. Condition of Items:

All items are provided on an "as-is" basis. Griffith University does not guarantee the
condition, functionality, cleanliness or fitness for purpose of any item nor that they are
free from any defect (apparent or latent). It is the recipient’s responsibility to inspect the
item before acceptance, and the recipient acknowledges that Griffith University is not
liable for any defects or issues discovered post-transfer, including any misunderstanding
regarding compatibility, functionality or use.

5. Not for resale

You warrant that you are obtaining the item for your own use within the University or
the use of your School or Element. You must not resell the item.

6. Indemnification:

By using Griffith University’s Warpit you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Griffith
University and its staff from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising in any way from
items obtained through the platform.

By clicking "I Agree", you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept these
terms and conditions. Thank you for participating in our sustainability initiative and helping
to reduce waste within our community.

What our customers are saying

Glad to reuse equipment that is unwanted rather than waste NHS money on new and it helps reduce landfill!

Anon, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trusts

Easy to use and great that it saves on waste and money too.

Anon, North Ayrshire Council

I've been looking to purchase a coffee machine for our department for a while now so getting this one to re-use is great!

It saves the university so much money!
